Lead Pastor

Bud

Rev. Paul D. "Bud" Pratt
cccbpratt@aol.com

The lead pastor provides spiritual leadership and general oversight of all of the ministries of the congregation, keeping the church's values and mission as a primary focus. The lead pastor serves as a constant reminder of our choice to be a mission-minded church, to encourage church growth through the changed lives of individuals, and to support the spiritual development of people as disciples of Jesus Christ.

He has the primary responsibility for preaching and works closely with the Worship Elder and the Director of Music to plan the worship services. As Head of Staff, he provides encouragement for setting and achieving goals in ministry while also troubleshooting any difficulties that may arise in achieving these goals. In addition, he serves as President of Consistory, the governing body of the church.

Pastoral care is another responsibility of the lead pastor including visits to the homebound or to those that are hospitalized, and pastoral counseling. The lead pastor also provides regular new member classes as well as educational classes when requested by the Spiritual Formation Pastor.

A Little More About Bud…

Pets: One fish

What impact did church have on you as a child?

I have been involved in and loved the church my entire life. I have many fond memories of worship, youth groups, picnics, and camp experiences.

Do you have a real life humorous church story to share? Actually, a pastor (who was also a dear friend of the family) stopped the evening service sermon and announced that I was asleep and that he wouldn't continue until I woke up!

What makes you weep? Powerful music, the pain of others whom I love, the Hymn "Fairest Lord Jesus"

In my free time I: Water ski, golf, go boating, spend time with Patty

I did not go to my last high school reunion because: It was so far away (Hawthorne, New Jersey).

What time do you get up in the morning? 6:30-7:00 a.m. (5:30 on Sundays)

What is your favorite.
