Director of Children's Ministries

The Children's Ministry Director oversees programming for children from infancy through fifth grade that teaches God's Word in a manner that is relevant to the child for their age. The vision of Christ Community Church is to create an environment for children where their church family nurtures them as they grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Programs are designed to help the children see themselves as the body of Christ, giving them guidance in understanding how the Bible can help them in all aspects of their life.

The Children's Ministry Director interacts with the pastors, staff, and lay people of the church to recruit volunteers that can provide the children's programs a fun and creative child-centered environment. This position also oversees the policies relating to Children's Ministries, along with the Consistory representative, and the personnel committee.

A Little More About Joan…

What impact did church have on you as a child? Church was my life. The body of the Church was my extended family. I loved being a part of a group of people that truly cared about you. The biggest impact on me was that the church is an extension of God's love being shown through His people.

Do you have a real life humorous church story to share? Of course, it would have to do with cooking. One time I was in charge of a church dinner. After we served everyone and went back to clean up we were shocked that there was still enough food to feed another 50 people! Cooking and figuring portions is just not a gift of mine.

What makes you weep? Music, movies, and when I see children hurting
