Wendy's Kids

Wendy’s Kids is a program in which the Mission Team sponsors 10 children through Empowering Lives International. The congregation saves coins throughout the year and we collect the money quarterly in jars entitled, “Change for Christ” jars. The jars are available in the church office. Take one home and join in this ministry!

Del & Deb Braaksma Location: Southern Sudan Ministry: Leadership Development Partner: RECONCILE

As missionaries to Sudan, Del and Debra Braaksma are helping to pick up the pieces of a country ravaged by twenty-five years of civil war. The Braaksmas are working with RECONCILE helping churches engage in reconciliation, trauma healing, civic education and leadership training.

Greg & Ruth De Haan Location: Sudan Ministry: Education, Discipleship and Development Partner: ACROSS

Greg and Ruth de Haan have ministered in Africa for many years. Greg works with Across, a ministry focused on Sudan that trains schoolteachers, teaches adults to read and write, alerts people to the dangers of HIV/AIDS and helps improve nutrition, health care and education.

Al & Sue Schreuder Location: Chiapas, Mexico Ministry: Leadership Training Partner: National Presbyterian Church of Mexico

Al trains leaders for the rapidly growing Tzotzil church, teaching pastors and lay leaders and preparing teaching materials in their native dialects. he also helps coordinate the paramedic training ministry and serves as liaison between the RCA and Ch'ol-speaking church leaders.

Marlin & Sally Vis Location: East Jerusalem, Palestine/Israel Ministry: Hospitality and Reconciliation Partner: Middle East Council of Churches

Palestinian Christians have reached a point of crisis, caught between Islamic and Israeli militancy. Many have left the area. Marlin and Sally Vis are engaged in a compassionate ministry to Palestinian refugees. They work with the Department of Service to Palestinian Refugees to help Palestinian Christians however they can.

Wendy Ludovici Location: Kenya Ministry: Leadership Development Partner: Empowering Lives International

Wendy currently serves as the project director for the Dynamic Business Start-Up Program (DBSP Kenya). DBSP Kenya provides outcome-based foundational business trainings and aftercare support to entrepreneurially-motivated persons, particularly those from an economically disadvantaged background, so that they are able to improve or establish their own viable, sustainable business. Wendy is responsible for raising up, developing, and managing a team of Kenyan trainer/facilitators for the courses.
