This summer camp is done in partnership with Pastor Fabiano Nicodemo and the Cesena church.
Current conditions at location
To better provide ways to serve their community, the church in Cesena realized that there were many people who wanted to learn the English language. For some, they want to learn English to better themselves professionally; others simply enjoy the challenge of learning a new language. In any case, people are coming to the church, by the dozens, to be taught by a few members with high English proficiency/fluency.
This is a 10-day trip which consists of five nights of conversational English with the goal of building relationships and sharing our stories of faith with Italians. Our trip is a valuable part of the class curriculum giving each student an intimate opportunity to practice the English one of one with a native speaker. We will be leading hands-on English conversation round-tables which engage the community.

Do I need a passport to come on this trip?

What happens if I can not make all the trainings, can I still go?
Italy is a tricky place. Their culture is complex. They do not operate the same way as we do in the States. That is why we train. We ask that everyone commit to the best of their ability to make all the trainings. We ask you to commit to a minimum of three (3) trainings. This may seem extreme (and it is), but it really helps us to come together as a team before we leave the States. If you are unable to make all the trainings, we will work with you to make sure you are up-to-speed before you take off. If you do not live around the Portland, OR area, we ask that you use Skype or FaceTime to virtually join us.
When does all of my money need to be paid? Can I fundraise?
All your money must be deposited into your account at Kingdom Ministries no later than one week before your departure date. But, to ensure reservatios are secure for our team, the sooner the better.
Do I need to speak Italian to come on this trip?
No! You do not need to know any Italian to go on this trip. We will be giving the team a crash course in Italian. Our hope is that everyone will be able to say 10 phrases before they leave!
The trip to Italy was life-changing. Not only did we have a big impact on the kids there, but I was able to stretch my faith and grow personally in my walk with Christ. I highly encourage everyone to do this trip!

God definitely filled my heart with joy while I served. It's a great testimony to the great privilege it is to share God's love by making your gifts and talents available for his use. I'm so blessed by this experience.
